Full Job Description
Hi! We're looking for someone with previous culinary experience who can join our BOH
team and help us prepare and nicely plate our casual and delicious menu items. We've been around for about 15 years and still going strong.
We strive to offer delicious, fresh and healthy-ish, American breakfast, brunch and light-lunch items, superb customer service and a collaborative work environment. If you enjoy making flavorful dishes (eggs, toasts, salads, sandwiches), taking good care of people, a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment, a very clean and organized workstation, have attention to detail, and want to have fun while working hard, we'd like to meet you!
Responsibilities:
Our cooks, as part of the back of the house staff, receive and stock groceries, and other food items, create reordering lists, prep ingredients and recipes, prep most of our menu items according to our recipes and guidelines (see menu on our website: www.angelinascoffee.com), operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, keep track of inventory, help set up and clean the kitchen daily, keep their station spotless, smile, are kind, respectful, organized, punctual, and reliable.
Our cooks must be able to:
- Efficiently and consistently prepare and serve, beautiful, plates and food items
- Come in early: 7 am (or earlier if needed)
- Work 8-10 hours daily standing up
- Be available on weekends and holidays
- Reach, bend, kneel, climb on a ladder, lift up to 50lbs
- Maintain a well-stocked station and keep track of inventory
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, show attention to detail
- Be knowledgeable about our entire menu
- Be creative
- Be fast and agile in the kitchen
- Cross-train in other stations of the café
- Collaborate with opening, closing and cleaning duties
- Be efficient, calm, composed, preparing and presenting our dishes
- Contribute to a safe and respectful work environment
Pre-Reqs:
- Min 2-3 years of experience at a professional and fast-paced kitchen, bakery, restaurant or café (required)
- US work authorization (required)
- Ability to communicate in English (required)
- Ability to reliably commute (required)

- We believe in equal pay for all our staff and offer a starting base wage of $15/hour + Tips (typically staff members can make ~$22-25+/hr including tips before taxes).

- We're a full-service café
- Hours of operation: 8 am-3 pm.
- We're hiring for full-time (Friday through Tuesday availability is a must)
- Hours for this position are typically 6/7 am - 3:30-4 pm (including prep time and cleaning)

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
