Montare Behavioral Health is opening a new Primary Mental Health Residential Treatment Center located in Phoenix Arizona, and we are currently looking for a Part-Time Weekend Chef!
Schedule:
Part-Time Weekends: Saturday & Sunday, 930 am-6 pm
Summary:
The chef facilitates client education about food and meal preparation. The chef provides appetizing and nutritious meals for individuals as well as staff. The chef is responsible for daily meal prep, food purchasing, and maintaining the kitchen according to county health codes and ServeSafe standards. The chef is familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures for individuals with eating disorders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Planning and providing all meals (breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner) for clients and staff
- Ensuring kitchen safety e.g. cleaning up spills, harmful items such as kitchen knives are locked at all times they are not in use, etc.
- Notify staff of emergency situations in a professional and prompt manner
- Follow a menu to properly prepare and cook meats, fish, poultry, vegetables, etc.
- Consider food allergies, preferences and individual meal plans
- Responsible for safe food standards including sanitation duties, food temperatures, refrigerator temperatures and food handling.
- Communicates information to the appropriate personnel about unsafe conditions and defective equipment immediately. Removes any unsafe equipment from use and notifies maintenance.
- Creating and managing food supply purchases as needed to operate kitchen, menu development and other duties.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Food Handler's Certification prior to start
- Valid Arizona driver's license - position requires driving.
- Current TB test clearance (must be renewed yearly).
- Current and Valid CPR and First Aid Certification on file (must be renewed yearly).
- Ability to pass Criminal Background check
- Often required to stand and sit; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and in some instances up to 40 pounds
Experience preparing meals in a residential setting preferred.
Hiring Requirements:
- Hiring is contingent upon completion of a Background Check, TB test, and clearance on a drug screen and pre-employment physical. Current First Aid and CPR certification or willing to obtain upon hire.
- For the mental health and eating disorder programs additional requirements include receiving DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance or an exemption and a submission of a signed Criminal Record Statement (LIC 508).
- Montare Behavioral Health requires employees to follow all vaccine mandates as required by state law.
