Job Description
We are looking for a professional, enthusiastic bartender with excellent communication skills to serve signature cocktails, wines, beers and beverages to our customers. The bartender will greet customers, learn about their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, and prepare and serve beverages and food. You will also upsell items, create recipes, utilize proper equipment and ingredients, and handle bar cleaning duties.
To succeed as a bartender, you should have a neat appearance and an engaging, friendly personality. You should be efficient, observant, knowledgeable, and personable.
Job Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by greeting and interacting with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Mixology: Prepare and serve a wide variety of beverages, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, following recipes and standards for quality and consistency.
- Menu Knowledge: Have a thorough understanding of the drink menu, including specialty cocktails, beers, wines, and other beverages, and be able to make recommendations to customers.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels of beverages and supplies, and order new stock when necessary to ensure that the bar is well-stocked at all times.
- Cash Handling: Handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly, including processing payments, issuing receipts, and providing customers with the correct change.
- Bar Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including cleaning glasses, utensils, and bar equipment, and ensuring that the bar is always well-presented and stocked.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations and liquor laws to ensure the safety of customers and staff members.
- Upselling: Actively promote and upsell special promotions, drinks, and food items to increase sales and enhance the overall customer experience.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with other staff members and management to ensure smooth operations and coordinate activities during busy periods.
- Problem-Solving: Handle customer complaints and resolve any issues that may arise in a professional and courteous manner.
- Knowledge of Mixology Trends: Stay updated on current trends in mixology and beverage industry to introduce new drinks and maintain the bar's competitiveness.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with other bartenders and staff members to ensure efficient service and a positive work environment.
- Upskilling: Attend training sessions or workshops to improve bartending skills and stay updated with new techniques and trends in the industry.
- Entertainment: Occasionally, entertain customers by preparing drinks in a visually appealing or engaging manner, if appropriate and in line with the establishment's atmosphere.
Bartender Requirements:
- High school diploma.
- Meets state minimum age to serve alcohol.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Positive, engaging personality, and professional appearance.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong task and time management abilities.
- Eye for detail and understanding of drink mixing tools and techniques.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, etc for extended periods, and lift up to 25 lbs.
Compensation & Hours

- Full Time 35-40 hours/week
- Part Time 10 -25 hours/week
- $10/hour + tips
- 35% discount on cocktails when visiting outside of scheduled hours
