Job Overview
The Bus Person's primary responsibility is to maintain a clean and inviting dining room and clean and stocked workstation. The Bus Person is also required to provide caring hospitality to our customers.
Essential Functions
- Follows Food Division Standards and Best Practices
- Clear and set tables according to company standards
- Sort plateware, glassware, and flatware in the dish room
- Responsible for recycling where applicable
- Ensure the dining room is properly set up for customer service
- Perform daily cleaning tasks as assigned
- Effectively deal with multiple customers
- Be knowledgeable of servers' duties and responsibilities, table numbers, and station assignments
- Follow food safety standards and maintain work area and equipment in accordance with Health Department standards
- Open and close the area following the appropriate checklist, verifying completion with the Manager on Duty prior to leaving the area
- Assist servers and expeditors and run food to customers when needed
- Maintain stock levels and standards in product presentation
- Collect trash and discard it in the appropriate compacting receptacle
- Follow station-specific duties and responsibilities
- Maintain personal hygiene and professional dress code to comply with Food Division and Health Department standards
- Perform other duties as needed
Competencies
- No Education or Experience Required.
- Ability to read and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays.
Physical Requirements
- The position requires prolonged periods of standing/walking around the store or department.
- May involve reaching, crouching, kneeling, and stooping.
- Frequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions, including handheld equipment, cash register, and ability to process register transactions.
- Frequently lift/move up to 25 lbs.
